Fall Vegetable Garden Ideas

Raised Bed Gardening

Raised bed (above ground) gardening is one of the easiest ways to enjoy a home-grown crop in the comforts of your own yard. Most fall vegetables such as carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, lettuce, beets, radish, spinach, cabbage, mustard, and collard greens.

Watch for disease and insects

A large part of any gardening is keeping the bugs and disease out of your crops. When you water you should always inspect your plants for anything new or alarming. Here at Hebert’s we have an immense knowledge of all types of insects and disease. Bring in a bug or a leaf and we can get you back on the right track.

Watering

Watering plays a large part in the amount of success you will have with your crop. It is good practice to water early in the morning rather than later in the day. Also, when you water you want to focus more on really saturating the roots and less on getting the leaves wet. Don’t forget to water everyday!
